Tangatanga: CS Matiang’i helped Raila to plan violence in Kibra
MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto under the Tangatanga umbrella have accused Interior CS Fred Matiang’i of helping ODM to plan violence in Kibra.
At least 14 MPs in a joint statement read by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah said Matiang’i and his PS Karanja Kibicho met Raila Odinga in Karen ahead of the Kibra by-election.
The MPs claimed it was this night meeting at a hotel in Karen where they agreed to unleash goons on Tangatanga members during the by-election.
This comes as a war of words and blame-game continues between the deputy president and the opposition leader’s camp.
ODM won the by-election, but Tangatanga claims the party unleashed violence on its agents, scaring away supporters.
Tangatanga has been calling for the arrest and prosecution of ODM leaders among them Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati who is accused of unleashing goons on his colleague Didimus Baraza.
However, ODM MPs have denied there was a such a meeting, instead accusing Tangatanga of the violence narrative to reject BBI recommendations.
