MOSES KURIA: This country is officially under dictatorship
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now believes President Uhuru Kenyatta has become a dictator following his recent purge on leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Thursday, Kuria also claimed that Uhuru has partnered with Raila Odinga to form a committee which will draft and make changes to the BBI report ahead of the 2022 election.
Kuria said the Yusuf Hajji led taskforce whose mandate was to collect views on the proposed BBI reforms has been cast aside as Uhuru-Rail team takes over.
“The Hajji committee has been pushed aside. Instead, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have selected their own lawyers who are drafting this report. Hajji and his committee were just flower girls. Raila is our competitor in 2022, yet he is now drafting changes that are going to determine how the game in which he is a player is played. Tumekataa na hii ni nchi yetu, sio ya mama ya mtu,” Kuria said.
He added: “This country is officially under a dictatorship.”
Kuria was in the company of other leaders allied to Ruto.
The DP has lately been sidelined by the president, with the removal of his key allies from plum government positions an indication of the fallout between the two.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was removed as Senate Majority Leader, with his position handed to West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio of KANU.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika was also kicked out as Majority Whip, with Murang’a’s Irungu Kang’ata taking over.
Plans are underway to kick out Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof. Kithure Kindiki as Senate Deputy Speaker. Kindiki is another key ally of the DP in the Senate.
While all this is happening, Ruto has maintained his silence, only appearing once distributing relief food amid the biting Coronavirus pandemic.
