Raila’s proposed Ksh6,000 unemployment benefit gets Kenyans talking

ODM leader Raila Odinga in his latest campaign stops unveiled a new proposal, splitting opinion among voters, analysts, opinion shapers and leaders as the 2022 General Elections draw closer. IEBC suspends voter registration in four devolved units

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday, October 12, announced the suspension of voter registration in four counties. IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced that it has called off the enrollment of voters in Kiambaa constituency and three other devolved units. President Kenyatta appoints team to streamline Kenya Power in 6 months

The government has appointed a 17-member inter ministerial steering committee, to implement a consumer tarrif reduction from an average of Ksh.24 per kilowatt hour to Ksh.16. The team will also streamline the limping Kenya Power company and turn-around the utility firm in six months. With Kenya Power in doldrums, the government declared the power company a special government project.
