Nigerian singer Davido’s wife tests positive for Coronavirus, their suckling baby at risk
Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his girlfriend has tested positive for the killer coronavirus.
Chioma Rowland tested positive for the disease after returning from London. She has since gone into quarantine to avoid spreading the virus further.
Davido who also recently returned from the US said he had tests done on him and their little baby and they turned negative.
However, they have also gone into isolation for 14 days having travelled out of Nigeria.
“We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March. Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby,” Davido said.
He added: “We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days. I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance.”
Having been with their baby in London, there are fears that the little angel might be infected as well.
Nigeria is among countries in Africa which have continued to record increased cases of coronavirus.
In Kenya, 31 cases have so far been recorded with one confirmed death from the virus.
The government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew to prevent further spread of the virus.
